New Caring Science, Mindful Practice Website and Blog

Caring

Hi Everyone,
Dr. Stizman is a Professor, Undergraduate Nursing Science, at East Carolina University (NC). She created a beautiful website caringsciencemindfulpractice.com with a CSMP (Caring Science Mindful Practice) Blog that I want to share with you. Dr. Sitzman created this because so many of her colleagues, students, and Caring Science, Mindful Practice MOOC graduates have wanted to create an ongoing space where those of us involved in this work have a place to touch base once in a while…to feel an ongoing connection with caring colleagues across the globe. She says caring work is important and gratifying, but it can also be tough and lonely because of the callousness and un-caring we often witness.

The CSMP blog that Dr. Sitzman creates a place where she will offer tips and observations related to self-care, mindfulness, and Caring Science work. Comments are welcomed and encouraged but not required. She does not shy away from difficult questions and she finds joy in every dialogue because connecting and communicating are the two things that will nudge this work forward towards the light of understanding and transformation.

Also on this website, there is information about how to register for the Caring Science, Mindful Practice Free and Open Online Course (CSMP MOOC) which will be constantly updated so that that everyone will know when registration is open and how to register. It is offered twice a year in September and January. Dr. Sitzman posted the CSMP MOOC course materials that explain what the course is about. These course materials will make it easier for MOOC graduates to explain to others what the course is about and will provide an idea of the course for those considering taking it. Many MOOC Graduates take the course more than once when they need some self-care time and she wanted to make sure everyone has access to reliable information about the course. There are now 20 CEUs available from Watson Caring Science Institute for successful completion of the MOOC. WOW!!

There is also information on caring science-related books and articles she wrote or co-wrote. Share this website link with your colleagues, friends, and family so that they might consider completing the CSMP MOOC and becoming a part of this Global Community of Caring. Know that Dr. Sitzman is present on the blog and on the website, holding caring space and sending love and light to all who do this work: caringsciencemindfulpractice.com

You can contact Dr. Sitzman with questions or comments on the blog or via e-mail: sitzmank@ecu.edu

I checked this website out and it is beautiful & informative. I am registering for the September CSMP MOCC course. Taking the course will enrich my blog as I go forward and more importantly, myself

Peace and blessings,

Kim
