Spring is in the air in Tucson, Arizona. The weather is beautiful and the wildflowers in the desert are blooming large from all the rain we had this winter. The washes around Tucson are filled with water from snow melt on Mt. Lemmon, a 10,000 foot high mountain, one hour drive to the top from Tucson. Mt. Lemmon is the southern most ski resort in the USA. I hear there are waterfalls to enjoy coming down off the rock on the sides of the road. I live in a remarkable place.
Some of you are still in the doldrums of late winter but better weather is coming. Daylight Savings Time is Sunday March 10th! I saw some nurses? from China checked into the blog. I wish I had Mandarin translation on the blog so we could hear your thoughts about integrative nursing & leadership.
It is International Woman’s Day Friday 3/8/2019. I found this important article about women in leadership in Forbes Magazine. Audrey Murrell, Contributer to Leadership Strategy introduced “intersectionality.” The article is not healthcare specific, however, it speaks to all women in all careers & workplaces. Check it out at https://www.forbes.com/sites/audreymurrell/2019/03/06/intersectionality-an-invitation-for-action-on-international-womens-day-and-beyond/#6aa7047e2ed5
Be sure you copy the entire link. If you can’t do anything special on Friday for International Women’s Day then take a look at this article and let me know what you think about the new term “intersectionality.”
As my fight for integrative nursing and self-care for nurses rages on this article tells us we cannot be balanced in the workplace without gender equality.
Keep caring for yourselves and I will be writing again soon.
